If you knew you could put a smile on a young child's face who is battling cancer, wouldn't you do it? Origaudio is on a mission to raise $10,000 for Gabe’s Chemo Duck program, and you can help do just that.
Chemo Duck is a non-profit educational organization that helps ease children and their families into their new life of treatment with a huggable duck toy and the art of play therapy. The inspiration behind Chemo Duck comes from a little boy named Gabe, who was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Gabe was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft tissue tumor) just a week shy of his first birthday. Nine months of chemotherapy, 30 radiation treatments, and numerous surgeries later, Gabe was pronounced cancer-free.
The long year of treatment took a toll on Gabe’s family, but Gabe held tight to his Chemo Duck, Connor, for support through the toughest year of his life. The duck got his name from one of Gabe’s friends he met in therapy as they pushed through treatment together. Today, Gabe cherishes Chemo Duck and still sees it as a way to honor the friends he made and lost while battling cancer.
So- where does Origaudio come in with all of this? Jason, our CEO, and his wife Ryan have always looked for ways to help the growing charity program, and have formed a special bond with the folks behind Chemo Duck. Origaudio recently added new backpacks to our product line and are excited to introduce custom designs, cut-and-sewn right here in California. We waved a huge banner at our booth in PPAI (see below) and plan to cut it up and make it the custom top on our new Parkside packs.
